Dr. Decorato began his private practice in plastic surgery in 1993. His medical training includes the completion of residency training in plastic surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Can fat from my arms be removed and injected into my buttocks?

Yes, autologous (using your own fat) fat transfer from one area of the body to the other is a very common procedure used in Gluteal Augmentation. It is possible to use fat from the arms, however most Gluteal Augmentation procedures requires a substantial amount of fat to make a significant difference and there is usually not enough fat in the arms to provide enough fill.
