How long will my photorejuvenation results last?
The longevity of your photorejuvenation results will depend on the types of blemishes you are treating and how large of an area or how many areas you wish to improve. For basic IPL treatments, most patients will need to undergo two to six procedures spaced four weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
More advanced photorejuvenation can often significantly reduce pigmentation issues such as brown spots, flushing, or spider veins for a long time. However, the procedure does not stop the skin from aging, so new wrinkles or blemishes may appear over time. If this occurs, you may want to consider undergoing pulsed light therapy (PLT) periodically over the years to maintain your result.
While results are individual to each patient, photorejuvenation before and after photos can help you assess what successful IPL results will look like.
What do I need to consider after my photorejuvenation?
To achieve the most beautiful and safe outcome, it’s important you return to your aesthetic plastic surgeon's office for follow-up evaluations at prescribed times and whenever you notice any changes to your skin. Do not hesitate to contact your surgeon when you have any questions or concerns.
