What will my hand rejuvenation incisions and scars be like?
Your hand rejuvenation incisions will vary based on the procedures you get.
Since noninvasive procedures such as fillers, sclerotherapy, spider vein treatment, chemical peel, IPL photorejuvenation, photodynamic therapy (PDT),and laser skin resurfacing do not require incisions, you will not have any scars.
If you have fat injections using fat transfer, the liposuction incisions to obtain the fat are very small and just large enough to allow the suction tube, or cannula, to go under the skin and remove the fat. The fat injection incisions are equally small.
If you have a surgical treatment to remove loose skin, you will have scars on top of your wrists that can be hidden by a watch or bracelet.
A board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeon will make every effort to make incisions and scars as small and inconspicuous as possible. Your incision healing will depend on the surgical technique, the steps you take to prevent infection (nutrition, not smoking, hydrating), and any underlying medical conditions or genetic tendencies.
