What type of facial implant incisions are there?
Your aesthetic plastic surgeon will make incisions near where they will place the implant, as outlined below:
Chin Implants
The surgeon will make incisions on the underside of the chin or inside the mouth at the gum/lip junction.
Cheek Implants
The surgeon will make incisions inside the mouth or through a lower eyelid or brow lift incision.
Tear Trough Implants (lower eyelid implants)
The surgeon will make small incisions around the eyes (transconjunctival or blepharoplasty incisions) or inside the mouth.
Will I have any scars after my facial implant procedure?
Wherever an incision is made, there will be a scar. Effectively, all of the choices for implant placement are through “hidden” scars. The “under the chin” incision for a silicone chin implant will likely leave the most visible scar, but is only noticeable if you look up. Incisions in the mouth or eyelid are very hard to see, even if you know they are there.
