Ears
I had my ears pinned back years ago but now need reading glasses. I have come to realise that they are not at the same height. I am looking for a revision surgeon in Florida.
Thank you!
Thank you for your question. Ear surgery typically corrects the contour of the ears. The height of the ears is not usually addressed, corrected or revised. Best wishes.
The procedure about which you are inquiring is called an 'otoplasty.' It is a very common procedure, performed by many board-certified plastic surgeons.
However, during your consultation with your plastic surgeon, you may learn that, while an otoplasty can correct "sticky-out" ears, it cannot necessarily make your ears more even.
There are normal asymmetries between the right and left side of the face, so one eye is higher than the other or one corner of the mouth is higher than the other, also the areas one can be higher than the other, also one side may be wider or bigger than the other side. The difference in the height of the ears is not easy to correct.
