Breast lift Question
I'm getting breast augmentation and the surgeon who I'm scheduled with said I will not need a breast lift. I showed my photos to my friend who works for a plastic surgeon and she reviewed it with her Doctor. He thought that I needed a lift or my implants which, are going to be place subpectoral, will look full and droopy. She advised me to have them placed over muscle but I'm not comfortable with that. I like my surgeon and specifically asked him if I need a lift but didn't think it was necessary.
Please help
Sounds like you are asking to have a second opinion, so don't be shy about that.
Different surgeons will often have different opinions about the same case. And honestly, different surgeons will get different results in the same case depending upon the techniques used and the skill in performing them. Both docs may be right in that they are telling you what they would do given your situation. And you may have very nice results in either scenario. If you want more piece of mind you can always seek more opinions. There are probably lots of docs on smartbeautyguide.com in your area who can give you advice. There's no issue with talking with lots of docs. Ultimately you need to have confidence in the choice you're making with both your surgeon and the surgical plan. If you aren't totally comfortable I wouldn't recommend going forward.

If you like your surgeon, you should schedule a visit with him and discuss this concern with him. Make sure you understand and are comfortable with what you are told. You can also get a real second opinion, not an unofficial one from a friend relaying what another surgeon said without examine you.
Thanks for your question. Without an exam or photos it is hard to give advice. Most patients who are "borderline" elect to not have a lift b/c of additional scarring. The Vectra 3D software is a great tool to show patients their simulated outcome following an implant. This can then be adjusted to show the breast with/without a lift. Best of Luck!
Elective surgery is just that, elective. I would advise you to go forward with the surgery only if you trust and are comfortable with a surgeon. Make sure you discuss all concerns with your surgeon pre operation. I recommend a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Good luck in your upcoming procedure!
Thank you for your question. I understand that you are getting conflicting data from your plastic surgeon and your friend who works for a plastic surgeon. Nothing can replace an in person consultation/physical examination. If you are truly interested in a 2nd opinion you should see a another board-certified plastic surgeon in person who can discuss your expectations and perform a physical exam on you. Like many other things there are multiple ways to address a single problem. You have to factor in the patient's desires, expectations, anatomy, as well as the surgeon's knowledge and ability. I hope this helps.
