With her excellent academic record and medical licensing exams in the 99th percentile, she was selected to start her surgical training at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She then went on to complete a highly competitive integrated plastic surgery training at Northwell Health in New York. During residency, Dr. Maia received extensive aesthetic surgery training from the leaders in cosmetic plastic surgery at the premier Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH). MEETH has the distinction of being the oldest and most prestigious training program in the country and is internationally recognized in the field of cosmetic surgery. She continued on to achieve a highly-sought after aesthetic fellowship at Harvard Medical School (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center).
