Introduction
My practice embraces the full spectrum of the highest quality breast and body contouring surgery, and aesthetic facial surgery.
I graduated from The College of William and Mary and The Medical College of Hampton Roads, both in Virginia. I am fully trained in General Surgery at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. I completed my residency in Plastic Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. My skills, confidence and consistency in providing high quality cosmetic surgery are due to this extraordinary training and experience.
I am double board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. To be an active member of these I completed four years of medical school, five years of training in general surgery, and three years of training in plastic surgery. This extensive training has qualified me to be certified both by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Both boards are recognized by the American Society of Medical Specialties, which requires one to pass vigorous testing and scrutiny of peers. Please note that not all boards are recognized by this prestigious governing body. Few plastic surgeons enjoy this distinction of double board certification. This is an important bonus when choosing your plastic surgeon.
I was on the full-time teaching faculty as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at University of Southern California and as an Assistant Chief of Service at The John Hopkins Hospital. I was in private practice in Beverly Hills and Washington D.C.
I am on staff at the top-rated hospitals in San Francisco, The California Pacific Medical Center and University of California San Francisco. I have been for many years a member in good standing of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the San Francisco Medical Society, and the California Medical Association. I am a clinical academic professor and teach plastic surgery at UCSF.
I volunteer for the uninsured at the San Francisco Free Clinic. I also participate in plastic surgery volunteer missions to the underprivileged deep in the jungle of Guatemala at the Hospital de la Familia. I am an assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco and one of only a few doctors with this privilege and distinction.
I have the very rare distinction of being selected as one of America’s Top Doctors. Only 1% of all practicing plastic surgeons enjoy this privilege. Only three practicing doctors in the bay area are on this list. This publication is developed by Castle Connolly Medical LTD, based on analysis of a wide array of professional qualifications and criteria. No one pays to be on this list
