Am I the right candidate?
I am 17 and weigh 86kg (189lbs) I am 5'3 in height and my bra size is 40E and I experience neck and back pain. I also find that my bra has made an indentation on my shoulder. I lack self esteem due to my big breasts and find it nearly impossible to find bras. I hate going shopping because I hardly find anything age approximate. Should I get a breast reduction?
Thanks for your question. The symptoms you describe are likely secondary to large breast size. Breast reduction is a great operation. I'm reluctant to operate on someone less than 18 because there might be additional growth. I would definitely find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area and have a consultation. Best of Luck!
You have many of the requirements for an insurance company to pay for a breast reduction. You should definitely consider losing some weight to see if you still have your symptoms. If you were to lose weight AND your symptoms abate, you may be able to avoid surgery. If you still have symptoms, a consultation with a Board certified Plastic Surgeon would be the next step. you should discuss the type of procedure as having a breast reduction may impact on your ability to breast feed if you have children going forward.
Hi and thank you for your message. Considering your young age and your complaints you sound like a very good candidate for a breast reduction. I usually recommend my patients to lose some weight prior to the breast reduction as this one hands their overall recovery and result; but this should not get in the way of your breast reduction if you are having many symptoms . Hope this helps and good luck

You are a good candidate for all the reasons you stated. Breast reduction is a safe and effective way to help you feel better. You should understand that because you are younger, there may be more of a chance that they may grow some more after the surgery but your surgeon can take this into consideration in planning the surgery.
