Left upper eyelid fat transfer
Asked 2015-05-26
I recently had chalazion surgery and fat was also removed from the upper eyelid. My eye is no longer almond shaped. The size of the chalazion was 5 mm. Should I consider fat transfer to restore the shape of my eye? How much will be the cost?

When you are considering revision eyelid surgery, it is best to consult with a surgeon who has considerable experience. There are several techniques that are available for augmenting fat in various areas of the face.
I agree with Dr. Buchanan. It is not uncommon for there to be a depression or volume loss in an area removal. Over time these tend to smooth out. Depending on how recent the surgery, you may or may not benefit from some mild massage to the area. If the change is persistent after 6-12 months, then have the area examined and go over your options with your surgeon.
