Mommy Makeover
I want an estimate for the mommy makeover and what all does it include?
This is a broad term. For patients that come into my San Francisco office, I try and find out exactly what concerns they have. A "Mommy Makeover" is a generic term that can include many procedures. They may include the following procedures-
breast mastopexy with or with breast augmentation
abdominoplasty - tummy tuck
liposuction
thigh lift
even facial procedures such as a facelift may be a part of one's "Mommy Makeover."
So, to find out what procedures are the best for you, seek out a consultation with a Board Certified ASAPS member. As you can see, the cost for such procedures depends on, which if any of the above are correct for you.
As was already mentioned, the term "Mommy Makeover" can encompass a number of procedures. It is meant to refer to the potential changes in a women's body following pregnancies and child birth. There are two basic concepts and procedures looked at: Breast and Body contouring. At my office in Northern Virginia, I would determine if your issue is too small a breast and therefore breast augmentation or implant may be recommended or are the breasts too saggy in which case a breast lift with or without implants may be indicated and lastly the breasts are too large and breast reduction is recommended. The other area of concern for women is the abdomen. Pregnancy can lead to a separation of the muscles leading to the tummy protruding out and loose excess skin. In general, a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is recommended. In order for you to get a better idea of what your particular needs and goals entail, please consult a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
A mommy makeover combines several surgical procedures to correct some of the unwanted changes that occur to a woman’s body after pregnancy. The classic “Mommy Makeover” usually involves a breast lift and/or breast augmentation with a tummy tuck that may also include liposuction. Pregnancy has the biggest effect upon the breasts and the stomach. Often there is sagging of the breasts with loss of pre-pregnancy breast volume. In addition, stretching of the stomach skin and stomach muscles often takes place along with the accumulation of some hard to get rid of hip and thigh fat. After a woman is finished having children, a mommy makeover can correct these issues. Costs will vary from region to region and also from one practice to another.
Seek the consultation of a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) to find out which procedures may be appropriate for you. The ABPS has a website listing all the certified plastic surgeons. Members of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) will all be board certified in plastic surgery and have demonstrated an interest and competence in cosmetic plastic surgery as well.
