Will a breast reduction be good for me?
I am 23 years old. I just had my first baby 6 weeks ago and am weaning. I wear a 34H. My true bust measurement is 30 however finding a bra to fit 30 I or J is extremely difficult. I do plan on having another baby in 2-3 years. Would a breast reduction be good for me even though I do plan on a future pregnancy? I have had almost constant back pain.
Women who have had breast reduction are some of your most happy patients, particularly because of the improvement in their appearance and physical symptoms. One needs to understand that any type of breast surgery comes with the potential loss of the abilitiy to breast feed, therefore, some women choose to postpone surgery until after childbearing. Consultation with a plastic surgeon can help you to decide what would be the most beneficial for you.
This is a very common question. Most patients are going to wait until they are done having children before they have a Breast Reduction. Pregnancy & severe weight gain/loss can have affects the female breast after a breast reduction which could require additional surgery such as a breast lift or a repeat Breast Reduction. However, if your symptoms persist and are severe 4 to 6 months after your delivery consider a consult with a member of the ASAPS in your area to address your concerns.
