Am I too young to even be considering a breast reduction surgery?
I'm 20 years old, I'm a 36DDD and 5'6". Most of my weight comes from my breasts. I may sound like I'm way too young to be even considering a breast reduction surgery but I have always had really bad back and neck pain. I have always taken Motrin to get a little relief from aching pain. It's so hard for me to do any physical activities. Please help!!
No, you are not too young. Women with your condition consider this procedure after puberty. It is very effective in reducing the weight due to large breasts and the impact they have on the back and neck. Your doctor may recommend and "anchor" incision or free nipple / areola graft. Hope this helps!
No, you are most likely not too young for a Breast Reduction to improve your symptoms. Be aware of the long term consequences. There will be scars, your ability to breast feed with pregnancy may be decreased & you may require additional breast surgery over the course of your lifetime with extreme weight gain/ loss or from repeated pregnancy's like a Breast lift or a Repeat Breast Reduction.
We have many patients that elect to have Breast Reduction Surgery and are extremely satisfied. Consider seeking out a member of the ASAPS in your area for evaluation & answer your concerns.
