Can fat from my stomach be placed in my breast?
All my life I have lived with the fact that one of my breasts is larger than the other. Now that I am 48 years old and all has headed south, I would like to know if fat from my stomach could be placed in my breast to even them out.
Fat transfer can be an excellent option for improving breast volume asymmetry. However, asymmetry often involves more than just size difference so other procedures such as a lift might be necessary for best results. Keep an open mind about the possibilities.
Structural fat grafting to the breasts can provide a wonderful result. I often use fat grafting with a lift in order to add some fullness to the upper pole.
Fat transfer is an increasingly popular procedure and correction of volume asymmetry is a good use for it. Breast asymmetry is often more than just volume however, so a lift may be required and there are many options including implants, reduction of the larger breast, and so forth. Fat grafting may require more than one session.
Breast Augmentation With Fat - Of course you can place fat from the stomach to the breast. Fat augmentation in the breast is an acceptable procedure in a limited number of patients that only want to have ‘”one breast size change”. This should be done in the hands of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon that do the procedure on a routine basis.
Yes, fat from your stomach could be transferred to your smaller breast to enlarge it. This procedure is not performed by all plastic surgeons at this time but the number is increasing all the time. Research the ASAPS members in your area and ask if they do this and what their experience has been before you commit to this particular technique. As with any surgical technique, there are advantages and disadvantages.
Other alternatives could include reducing the larger breast to match the smaller one and/or doing this with implants or possibly in combination with a breast lift. Again, discuss your options with a local ASAPS member (who will be a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who has demonstrated a special interest and experience in cosmetic surgery).
