How soon can I have liposuction after having a “C” section?
I would like to have liposuction after my C section; what kind of down time should I expect? I have two kids under two and a half. When can I return to the gym?
You have just had a baby and your weight and body fluid status will adjust significantly. The c-section scar needs to heal as well. I would say at least 6 months to let things stabilize. Good Luck
These are questioned best addressed by your OB Practioner. Often after a pregnancy, weight gain can occur. A period of exercise & dieting may be in order after you have fully recovered from your C Section before liposuction should considered.

Can I Have Liposuction After A C-Section - I would wait 6-9 months to allow your body to recalibrate and to lose most of your postpartum weight. If you are considering having another child I would wait until you’re done having children, in most cases, before considering having Liposuction.
There are natural fluid and weight changes during and after pregnancy. I would wait six months or so before contemplating liposuction. During that time make an effort the get back into shape and get on a healthy diet. Not a temporary diet but an eating habit that balances healthy calorie intake with the calories you burn through exercise and your regular activities. Liposuction is not a substitute for diet or exercise - it is a contouring procedure to help reshape those areas that diet and exercise cannot or will not fix. Best of luck to you!
You will get a variety of answers about how long to wait after childbirth before having a liiposuction Most ethical plastic surgeons would suggest waiting at least 6 months after delivering because:
• Your body, including your abdomen is still changing.
• You may have not lost all of your pregnancy weight.
• You cannot lift the baby postoperatively for weeks after a liposuction”. The number of weeks depending on the extent of the procedures performed.
• You will need additional support at home to take of the baby as well as you.
I would suggest that you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.

The downtime following liposuction will depend upon the extent of the liposuction. Following multiple pregnancies, some women can restore their pre-baby shape with liposuction alone. Many other women require a tummy tuck. Liposuction will remove excess fat alone, while a tummy tuck will remove excess skin and fat and will also addresses weakened muscles that may result in a "pooch" and . or a fuller waist than before pregnancy. Always check with your obstetrician about physical activity and surgery following a C-section. Your plastic surgeon will have guidelines about when you can return to the gym based on the particulars of your surgery.
