Eye Orbital Surgery results
I had got assaulted the first of the year 2017. I got kicked in the face and due to this 2 weeks after my injury I had to have a tripod put in the left side of my face. 2 weeks after that my eye was dropped and had to have the floor of my eye orbital replaced. The surgeon said my eye was pushed back 5mm and the floor was gone and he had to rebuild a new floor and moved my eye forward. The date of that surgery was 2/22/17. Its been over a year my eye still looks dropped to me. At times throughout the day also it tends to open up around it making it look extremely worse. I also still have no feeling in my face and if I drink alcohol my face drops a bit. I’m guessing that had something to do with it relaxing my nerves. To me it just looks like it's getting worse. I don’t like the outcome of it, there are people who tell me they can’t tell and others who notice it right away. I see a huge difference. My eye looks lazy and glossy. This has been really aggravating to me considering well, this is my face. From the research I did I understand it can take up to a year to appear normal again. Is this true? Will my eye elevate on its own? Will I ever get feeling back in my face? I think it should be getting a lot better and to me it's not. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Hi, I'm very sorry to hear about your injury. These procedures can be challenging and difficult, time is your friend and yo should let nerves and muscles recover prior to a 2nd surgery. However some of the changes you describe may need a revision surgery. Make sure you go to someone who has a lot of experience in cranio or maxillofacial reconstruction.
Best of luck to you

Photos would help a lot in confirming your concerns you mention but to answer your questions, it takes a year for healing to be 'complete' and at which point you should not expect changes to occur (like elevation of your globe). Reconstruction of the area can certainly be considered but you should find a surgeon with a lot of experience with repairing prior work as experience does count here. Best wishes in achieving your goals.
