Lines from nose scrunching(not bunny lines) vertical, from the sides of my nose and up. What are they called?
These lines can be felt when I run my fingers next to my nose. I scrunch my nose a lot but I don't get bunny lines, I get these lines. They aren't frown or smile lines. These lines come from the sides of my nose and then vertically up towards midway of my nose, about a centimeter away from the bridge of my nose. It's a dark and dull line that makes my nose seem big and fat. If I pinch directly on the lines on both sides of my face, I can't breathe. No one else seems to have this problem and it frustrates me when I think I will never be able to get rid of them or even know what they are called. I'm very young too- a teenager to be exact. Please help me out and tell me what these lines are called. Thank you.
Thank you for submitting your question and sharing your concerns about your appearance. The anatomic area that you are describing is the glabellar area which in older patients may be amenable to treatment with a neurotoxin such as Botox or Dysport. It would be best to discuss your concerns with your parents and decide if you would like to move forward with an evaluation. If so, it is best to see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area for an in-person consultation. Best wishes!
These dynamic (scrunching) lines that you describe may be part of your glabellar (area between your eyes) muscles; I would have to see pictures (or video) to evaluate the area; there are procedures that can improve the area; a consultation is key. You should communicate your concerns to your parents as you would need their consent.
