Inverted nipple
My left breast is smaller and the nipple is inverted. I want them both same size and not bigger just firmer. What do you recommend?
Nipple inversion can often be corrected with a simple office procedure that preserves sensation and your ability to breast feed. In terms of the breast size, you need to determine if you like the bigger one or the smaller one. Enlarging the smaller one can be done with your own fat or with a small implant while a small reduction or liposuction can make the large one smaller. Hope that helps!
Inverted nipple is a delicate problem and unfortunately in contrary to the common given information that it is an easy procedure, the real facts showed the opposite. The choice of the techniques which are so many is essential for you to first decide what degree of inversion you have and the how much support existed under the nipple. The suspension technique to the nipple is also essential after surgery. Depending on this the choice of the technique is taken thereafter to choose a method which preserves the lactation which is so essential that your doctor is aware about.
Concerning the asymmetry between your breasts so probably we need more info about what is status now to decide further. If an implant is suggested so this can be done at the same procedure as inverted nipple correction. If the difference is not big a fat grafting could be an option but this should be evaluated if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon who can discuss the options and find together best solution.
There are several options to correct asymmetry. The option will depend to a larger extent on the degree of asymmetry. The options are; augmentation of the smaller breast, fat transfer, combination of both or reduction/ lift of the larger side.
Inverted nipple correction can be done at the same time.
A breast augmentation is the key either with fat grafting (if you have excess of fat) or breast implants (which surely will make them firmer) to achieve balance. The nipple easily can be inverted through both procedures. I hope this was helpful enough. Thank you.
Nipple inversion can usually easily be corrected. Unfortunately, the most common side effect is numbness of your nipple and inability to breast feed from that nipple. The size discrepancy can be corrected with an implant under the smaller breast. As far as your desire to be "firmer", but not larger.... Implants will make you firmer and larger. There is no way to insert an implant without making you larger. If you have drooping and loose skin, then a breast lift will tighten your skin and make them firmer. The best thing to do is consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to be evaluated and determine in person what is best for you. Good Luck!
