Donate this "Giving Tuesday" to The Breast Cancer Journey Assistance Fund As we enter the season of giving, it's a time to reflect on all the things we are grateful for and also acknowledge those who are less fortunate. At The Aesthetic Foundation, we've focused our charitable efforts on helping breast cancer patients with our Breast Cancer Journey Assistance Fund. While "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" is only one month of the year and "Giving Tuesday" is just one day, the need for assistance is a year long effort. Whether you
donate $10 or $1,000, every bit of help makes a difference. You can make a one-time donation or sign up to make monthly donations so we can continue to support patients year round.
Here are just a few of the words of appreciation from breast cancer patients who have received funds:
"It's certainly continuing to be an uphill battle, I'm needing to undergo radiation, 2 more surgical procedures after radiation and phase 2 of chemotherapy. I look forward to overcoming and conquering this aggressive, triple negative breast cancer. With having God, my family, an awesome support team, and amazing foundations such as The Aesthetic Foundation Breast Cancer Journey
Assistance Fund on our side. This Definitely makes my journey substantially pleasant. Words cannot describe how thankful and grateful I am."
"At 35 weeks pregnant, I underwent a biopsy of the lump, which revealed it to be cancerous. My obstetrician quickly coordinated a plan with my oncologist to induce labor at 37 weeks, allowing me to start chemotherapy treatment right afterward. I am currently undergoing my second round of chemotherapy and look forward to ringing the bell to celebrate the end of my treatment. I am
grateful for the financial assistance to help with co-pays and other bills."
"Thank you so very much for the financial assistance! This year has been particularly challenging with increased medical expenses, lower income, and the rising cost of raising 2 teen boys. As a metastatic breast cancer thriver, the stress of making sure finances stay in order for my family weighs very heavily on me. This goes a long way to taking some of that stress off my plate so I can
focus on treatments and making the most of the time I have."

Patient Safety Award Benefactors: Mark Jewell, MD, and Mary Jewell, RPT
Mark Jewell, MD, and Mary Jewell, RPT, are passionate about advancing patient safety, which is why they generously funded The Aesthetic Foundation's Patient Safety Award, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to improving the safety of aesthetic plastic surgery and medicine. "A culture of patient safety is vital to producing great outcomes for our patients," notes the benefactors.
Drs. Robert Singer, Pat Pazmino, and I were the recipients of the 2024 awards. It was a great honor and surprise to have our colleagues honor Dr. Pazmino and my work to combat BBL associated mortality in Florida. Dr. Singer has dedicated his career to making an impact on patient safety through committee work, collaboration with AAAASF, and numerous presentations and publications.
