This is my last newsletter as President of The Aesthetic Foundation, and it has been a busy and productive year. Our core mission is to support research that is relevant to practicing plastic surgeons and improve the safety and effectiveness of the procedures that we offer to our patients.

The dues support the 30+ ongoing studies that have been funded by The Foundation including studies such as “Cytotoxicity of Implant-Exposed Serum on Breast Cancer”, “Impact of Xeomin, Dysport, and Botox on Nerve Injuries”, “Effect of Intramuscular Fat Grafting on New Muscle Formation”, “Does TXA reduce Bruising After Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injection: A Prospective half face study”, “Increasing SMAS Durability via Photochemical Passivation for Facelifts”, and “Histologic Effects of Energy-Based Skin Tightening Treatments”.
Do you have an idea for a study but don’t where to start or how to finance it? The Aesthetic Foundation has awarded over $3 Million dollars to aesthetic surgery research since it was founded in 1993.
